Does anyone know the answer to this:
The unc website says that a prospective student will be assigned a personal id # once a decision has been made on their app. my s did not receive a likely letter but he has a pid. does this mean he did not get it?

Perhaps it means his likely letter is in the mail?? I really have no idea.

How was your S assigned a pid? Was he sent an email? Does it appear somewhere on the admissions website?

I thought that "prospective student" means that there is a chance that he will be a student at UNC, but there's still the chance he may not get in. I thought that anyone who applies to any college is labeled "prospective student"....that doesn't necessarily mean that they have been admitted.

I may be completely wrong though.

What does anyone else think?

I have received a likely letter but, to my knowledge, have not received a PID. I really don't know what that would mean. I wonder how it was given and if there were any instructions with it. It is curious.

I think every applicant gets a PID
