pink dorm room

You are entitled to get whatever color stuff you prefer. I would think it is no big deal if you are getting the basics in pink, but if every single thing you are bringing is pink and overwhelming, you might want to reconsider! Just keep in mind, you are in college and not a 3 year old. If you want to get along with your roommate and not turn her off before you even open your mouth, be conscious!
If you think you are going overboard with PINK, then you probably are!

Well, when I lived in a dorm, I painted my dorm room pink – but then again, I was in a single.

Wow… old thread back from the dead.

Back to the topic… your side of the room is your side! As long as you aren’t throwing strobe lights a roomie’s way you’re good as long as you stay on your side. All pink, all purple whatever. Personal rug that stays in your own space is OK too! Shower curtain and curtains on a single shared window are up to debate between you are your roomie. Any other shared spaces (depending on how the room is set up) are also are also up to decor discussion with roomies.

All pink or all any other color might be a little tacky but that’s the point, have fun with it! Many of these dorm rooms are old and small and dull. Time to liven it up!

One of my friends and her roommate had an all-pink room. They said they didn’t even coordinate when they bought their stuff before move-in. Their room looked really nice. For small spaces, a single color scheme looks especially great and even makes the room appear bigger.

Me and my roommate’s room was hilarious…Her stuff was all pink and magenta…from the sheets to the wall. I had a neon green bed, black comforter, and crazy colored posters…

It didn’t match AT ALL. But oh well.

Her stuff is her stuff, my stuff is my stuff.

We consulted on the rug and the curtains, though. Picked neutral colors.

“Would you be mad if you were my roommate?”

I dunno. Is it Baker-Miller Pink?

LoL…back in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s, there was a theory that you couldn’t get mad in a pink room, that it had a calming effect. Some jails even painted their holding cells pink to cut down on prisoners’ aggression. The U Iowa football coach even painted the visitor’s locker room pink. It was even supposed to suppress appetite. The particular shade of pink used was called Baker-Miller Pink. Well, data from subsequent research did not offer strong support for this theory.
