Pirates of the Carribean II

This movie was ridiculous, but sooooo good. Yay for the love triangle! Orlando Bloom is such a loser. I hope Keira ditches him in the next movie.

wait...i thought she kissed him so she could tie him up or w/e...not cuz she actually loves him

Well ... I think it was both. I mean, outrageously sexy pirate vs. loserly "noble-hearted" guy? No competition. Plus, she's so feisty and much more suited to the pirate lifestyle.

I really liked it, especially the ending. Even though it was kinda long and winding sometimes, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next one.

Was it just me, or did someone else think that Keira looked like she was feeling more guilty than sad about Jack dying. Would explain why she didn't drink to him at the end, since she felt responsible for his death, which she was. And also would explain why she wanted to save him, because that's the only way she could redeem herself.

Or maybe that was just me...

yeah i was on a message board and they were all debating over the love triangle. i myself firmly believe that elizabeth is simply strongly attracted to jack. also, i mean, imagine if in the third movie elizabeth ditches will for jack. will would go throw himself off a cliff.

i think that jack sparrow didnt get to be jack enough - i missed his "savvy?" (he only said it once during the movie) and "i'm captain jack sparrow, mate!" and i agree that there should be less special effects/fight scenes and more...heart?

people literally lined up to see that movie.

I remember the first night the Grinch came out with Jim Carrey. It was crazy too.

I grin everytime he says "Remember this as the time you ALMOST caught . . . Captain Jack Sparrow."

BusinessGuy>

I think she definently felt guilty. Wasn't she the only one crying? But she had to do it . . . . .

but JAHK SPAWRROW SHALL RETURN. He always does. And he still has the heart.

Even though he said he'd miss the costume in some interview . . .

POTC 3 (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End): Plot Outline: Captain Barbossa, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann must sail off the edge of the map, navigate treachery and betrayal, rescue Captain Jack Sparrow, and make their final alliances for one last decisive battle.

. . . I think it was a ploy or something. To trick us. . . . like the character he is :)

excellent movie I thought.

random questions...

if the cracken monster thing was going after sparrow, how did it not know he was rowing away from the boat at the end? and how did it go for that one boat where the guy found jacks hat if it hadn't been summoned by davie jones? b/c if its instincts were that on, then it should've know when jack was rowing away. and why is it the first time a boat got eaten by it it happened in a split second and the other times it was all like "let me crawl up dramatically from this end...and then from this one...and then from this one". whatever, pointless questions i guess.

a more important question...why is will turner such a dumb.a.s.s? seriously, can he just die or something?

im still confused about the elizabeth&jack sparrow relationship.

why did she want to tie him to the boat and therefore kill him in the first place?

I'm going to see Pirates of the Carribean tonight at 10:00.

I didn't read anything in this thread, because I don't want to spoil it. Hopefully it's good!

because the monster of jones wanted to kill Jack so if he kept on following them all of them would be in danger.

lol, I'd wondered about pretty much everything current_student asked!

ohhh yeaaaaaa i get it now thnx

now that i get the story (while watching it i didnt get a bit of it) i want to watch it again.

$136.5 million for its opening weekend--a new record for the industry. Jesus.

I just got back from seeing that movie. It was SO BORING. It seemed like it was never going to end. The cinematography was great, though.

I though it had good fights scenes. I liked the fight scenes and Johnny Depp's acting so much I saw the movie twice.

I agree with jonathon k. too... I've hardly ever been actually BORED during movies. even when they're bad they can be slightly entertaining. I really liked the first one, but this one had too many fights and really bad special effects.

i can see how the fights and the movie may have been kind of draining, but the special effects were pretty good. i mean the kraken thing was pretty impressive.

^the kraken thing was good, and davie jones was good, but his crew were so fake-looking.

eh, maybe. i thought it was better than a lot of other movies' special effects. i thought the part where johnny flips over the gap with that stick tied to him was the worst special effects part...and worst part in general. it was pretty lame.
