<p>but i'm gonna say that johnny can't do a front flip tied to a stick, much less over a ten foot gap. he's amazing, but there are limits.</p>
<p>Saw the movie today and LOVED IT. Except the ending-what a horrible cliffhanger. Is Jack dead? How did Barbosa(sp?) get back? What about Davey Jones' heart? And will Elizabeth still marry Will? </p>
<p>Can't wait until POTC 3!!!!!!!</p>

-no jack can't be dead b/c they'd have no plot for the 3rd movie.<br>
-i have no idea about barbosa, mainly b/c i can't really remember how he died in the first one...i've been to lazy to see it again.

<p>Well the negative cost (i.e.production budget) for the film was $225M...this normally includes advances to the main talent against some kind of backend participation deal. So far the movie has grossed $304M worldwide I'm guessing that it will probably do somewhere between $1,000M-1,200M. However, studios don't normally make a large profit from BO (here disney/buena vista isn't making that much despite the large gap between production budget and gross because of other costs like P&A, participations, residuals, etc. - they will probably make a small profit from BO alone)...the majority of the revenues come from ancillary markets specifically Home Video. So this film, despite its big budget, will definitely be bringing in a good return for Disney/Buena Vista. The IRR on a franchise film like pirates of the carribbean is definitely upward of 30%.</p>
<p>FINALLY saw it today...and now I want to see 3. Some hypothetical questions.</p>

<li>How will Davey Jones and Lord Perry be connected, now that the former's heart is with the latter.</li>
<li>How the crap did Barbosa come back to life? And just how much of an influence will he be.</li>
<li>Elizabeth...has a bunch of questions to herself. Will she ever confess what she did to Jack, what will happen if Will finds out, and what will happen if the two ever meet face to face?</li>
<li>How will new characters be connected/interfere with the story line continuing from this movie?</li>

<p>for example, you know the ring that jack steals from that voodoo lady's crib? it was actually barbossa's ring (according to wiki u can see it on barbossa's hand in the first movie), foreshadowing barbossa's return.</p>
<p>as for barbossa being back, i think it has somethign to do with the fact that he was 'so evil that the hell itself spat him back out'. perhaps hell spat him out once more?</p>
<p>yeah, well of course they picked a random, unimportant scene. i mean, how many ppl stay until after the credits? i was going to, but i forgot. :( certainly the scene after the credits in POTC 1 was kind of useless at first, though not anymore because POTC 2 made it important (some ppl were scratching their heads, wondering at how the monkey could possibly be still undead)</p>
