Pitt University Scholarships

My son loves Pitt and was accepted into the Pitt Honors College.
He also received a University Scholarship of 10k per year which is really great, however even with that amount, Pitt will be a stretch financially.
Is there any procedure to politely request a higher University Scholarship amount based on outstanding merit?

Pitt used to have a Cost Analysis procedure where you could show competing offers but they do not have this process anymore. 10-15K per year for an ACT 34 is pretty standard for Pitt.

Thanks, yes my son received 10k/year and had a 34 on ACT. He received 16k from Temple, but would prefer to go to Pitt. Do you know where I may write a letter to Pitt to thank them for the offer and ask for a little closer to the 16k to help us financially?

@collegeparent639 per the Pitt official who answers questions here, Pitt has discontinued the cost analysis process. I don’t think they will review competing offers.

@hailtopitt1787, My son received his acceptance from Swanson School of engineering in the last month. Although he is an international student graduating from US high school, he will qualify for 'in-state" tuition after he enrolls. Can he receive some merit award at Upitt?

My son received merit scholarship ($2000 per year 4 years) as an “international” student.
