I just had a skype interview with an admissions counselor at Pitzer and it was literally 12 minutes long. He asked me 3 questions. Has anyone else done a skype interview at Pitzer? I feel like the questions asked didn't really give me the chance to showcase myself. The questions were all questions I'd been asked before (in different interviews), so my answers sounded completely canned. Not the vibe at ALL I want to be giving to Pitzer.

How do you set up a Skype interview at Pitzer??
That happened in another one of my interviews…no worries…at Colby, the guy legitimately asked me one question about myself and then told me some anecdotes about his travels.

You can just call the Admission office and they will set one up.

As to the original poster, I wouldnt worry about it. Different interviews have different lengths/flow of questions.

if you don’t mind me asking…what type of questions did he ask you? i really want to interview but i suck at thinking on my feet and i completelyblank out when i’m nervous…so i’m trying to get all the help i can.

but yeah interviews have different lengths, just b/c yours was only 12 minutes doesnt mean you did bad…maybe they got all the info they needed.

@dancepyschlove: look on pitzer’s website
haha did your colby interview seriously go like that? thats really funny…

also how important are interviews to pitzer? do they help you get more scolarship money?

FWIW, we were on vacation in California this summer and my daughter went to Pitzer for an interview. It was very short and informal; not what we were expecting. But she still likes it a lot, and we had a good tour.

If I remember clearly, he asked me to describe my school, what led me to Pitzer, and what I would major in if I had to decide. Pretty standard questions.

I was under the impression that interviews are pretty important, considering that they are SAT optional so they have less information to go off of. I think Pitzer puts a heavy emphasis on things like recs, essays, and interviews - the personal part of applications. That’s why I was put off by how short it was as it seemed so unlike Pitzer.

Anyway, thanks to all the replies. I’m still hoping for a large orange envelope come spring! Good luck to all.
