Place to Live Off-Campus?

So I have been living in the tiny triple room of Warren for a quarter now (and it seems such conditions have two quarters to come). Also, the housing here has been associated with MOUSE PROBLEM (THE WORST), roommate conflicts and really small personal space. Having thought for a while, I decide to move out. (like, before the beginning of next quarter, or before the start of sophomore year)

Then questions occur: I have no idea how to find a place to live off-campus here, and generally the price are high as sky. Plus, as an international, the only identification I have is I20 and my passport. What kind of procedures do I have to go through? Where can I find housing? How can I judge if it is a suitable one? (like, I will never appreciate mouse in a house) How much money should I expect to pay each month? (definitely have to share with two or more people, I guess)

Thanks for any suggestions.

  1. Make sure you are able to get out of your on-campus housing contract first before pursuing an off-campus option.
Start with UCSD Campus housing center.

Here is some information: https://students.ucsd.edu/campus-services/housing/offcampus/

You might also want to post that you are looking for a room to rent on the UCSD Housing Facebook page.

Thank you…I nearly forget the housing contract thing.
