<p>When are the Math and the Chem placement exams dates released?
If I have 30+ in ACT compose then can I skip the Entry Level Writing Program or do I still have to do the in May at High school?

<p>What it says there is no longer valid. As of Fall 2012, ALL students who want to register for CHE 2A or CHE 2AH MUST take the chemistry placement exam, no exceptions. </p>

As of Fall 2012, ALL students who register in CHE 2A, CHE 2AH or WLD 41C are required to take the online Chemistry placement exam, regardless of SAT or AP test scores. The Department of Chemistry will administratively drop students who do not meet the minimum Chemistry and Math placement scores for the Chemistry course they have enrolled in.

Do they assign you a date and time or any time by a certain date?</p>

<p>Well in previous years, incoming students took the placement exams at orientation, but I’m not sure whether that still holds true for this upcoming school year–you can ask JeSuis about it since he’s going to be one of the orientation leaders this summer. </p>

<p>The dates for the chemistry and math tests for incoming students have not been released yet. I suspect they’ll be out when transfer applicants get their results (sometime in mid to late April).</p>

<p>You take the Chemistry and Math placement tests online (I’m not sure when; they should email you when the tests are available.) The language placement exam can be taken at orientation or once you start at Davis.</p>

<p>You mean the AWPE? Yes, there are multiple ways to be exempt from the test.</p>

Students who enter UC directly from California high schools will satisfy this requirement with a test score of 680 or better on the College Board’s SAT Reasoning Test, Writing section; a 30 or better on the ACT Combined English/Writing Test; a 3, 4, or 5 on either Advanced Placement (AP) Examination in English; a 5 or above on the International Baccalaureate’s High Level English A Examination or a 6 or above on the IB’s Standard Level English A; a grade of C or better in an acceptable college course in English composition; or a composite score of 8 or higher on the University-wide Analytical Writing Placement Examination (AWPE) administered in May of their senior year.
