I'm going to be taking my placement tests (English and Math) next Tuesday. What can you tell me about them? Any tips? I'm a transfer, and I haven't been to the campus since my tour, and my advising session will be at the end of July. I'm particularly concerned about the math test. I haven't taken a math class in five years, and I can't remember a lot of the things on the review sheet. Of course, I'm going to brush up, but how difficult is the math, and how worried should I be? If they start at 8, what time should I expect to leave?

The placement tests are pretty easy. At worst you’ll get put into college algebra. From there just take pre-calc, and then your major will have its own math requirements (stat, calc, or a special class).

English was also easy. I never even took AP Eng and placed into IH1 (bypassing two English classes).

The test did take a long time though. About 6 hours including lunch. You’ll be taking it in Gladfelter or Anderson which isn’t the most enthusing place to be all day.

I am taking it next week, so I have looked over the topics to prepare myself more. I heard it is exactly the same topics, so that should help you in knowing what you need to know.

Actually at worst you’ll be placed into elementary algebra, and then you have to take college algebra and statistics (QA & QB). Then you might or might not be required to take higher level mathematics (calculus, linear algebra, etc) depending on your major.
