So just curious, did all Austin acceptances make it around last night?
Just ran out to check the mail - I’ve been accepted to LAH! This is honestly such a shock, as the mystatus page hasn’t been updated (and I didn’t think I was a strong enough applicant to be admitted in the first wave) but it’s really an honor. Hope everyone else gets in!

@ploof123 Thank you! I’m from Texas, but not Austin, actually a small town about 6 hours away. I’ve heard that the acceptances will come by mail first, so I guess it all depends on the postman.

My essays focused mostly on my love for writing, and I think they were pretty good!
Has anyone else heard back? A lot of my friends applied and haven’t heard anything yet. I guess it’s now merely a matter of snail mail.
@bwulv24 Thank you! Do y’all think that the honors admissions committees will see my college transcript? I have close to 50 college credit hours right now. I sent it to the regular admissions office.
Has anyone else received news on acceptances? Anyone in the Houston area?
The honors application deadline being extended to Dec. 8th should apply to Plan II as well, right?
@LikeThis, I’m not certain where you received notification that the LAH or Plan II application deadline have been extended to December 8. Maybe you are referring to the document submission deadline. If you follow the UT Austin Admissions twitter account at @bealonghorn , it states the following:
December 1 is the deadline to submit your Apply Texas application
December 8 is the deadline to upload/submit supporting documentation such as high school transcripts
December 31 is the last date for test scores to arrive and be timely considered.
Its my understanding that the LAH deadline and Plan II deadline are still December 1, unless of course you’ve been notified to the contrary by someone from UT. If so, could you please post that information in another post as I’m certain it would be helpful for other applicants to know as well.

I wasn’t notified, but saw that the admissions website says that the supporting doc deadline’s Dec. 8, as you mentioned. From what I can gather, the update on the honors admissions site (http://admissions.utexas.edu/apply/freshman-honors#fndtn-t60-application-open-date) is essentially saying that the honors applications are considered supporting docs, so the deadline’s also Dec. 8.
However, the update doesn’t mention Plan II specifically, and Plan II’s website still says that all materials must be received by Dec. 1.
Thanks for the pasting the link @LikeThis. I’ll note that the webpage states that the deadline applies to “freshman honors programs” which is a hyperlink on that page. When you click on the hyperlink for “freshman honors programs” it takes you to a page that includes a description of the various honors programs including Plan II. I’d recommend that you immediately send a tweet to @bealonghorn which appears to be answering questions this evening in the run up to the December 1 deadline to submit the Apply Texas application. Hopefully you can get a response this evening and have the peace of mind regarding what appears to me to be a reasonably interpretation.
@fatherof2boys, thank you for your help. An update: deadline extension or not, my UT EID and application both just came through tonight, and I’ve successfully applied to Plan II and LAH. Lesson learned about starting early!

My friends daughter got plan 2 admissions letter last week. She is from Houston area. Called Plan 2 office and the next round is before Christmas. There many who my daughter knows are waiting including my daughter.
How are rejection notifications sent out (through myStatus, letter, email, etc) for Plan II? Also, does anyone know if priority decisions will be rolled out before January 1st (if not deferred/waitlisted)?
@kchu228 Last year Plan II acceptances for priority applicants continued to appear through mid-to late February so don’t assume that you are rejected or wait listed if you don’t get an acceptance by Christmas.
Just curious, does anyone know if Plan II/ LAH sends out rejection letters in these first two rounds?
I know BHP did, so I’m assuming Plan II/LAH will too?
From last years thread, I don’t think the rejections came out til March.
