First, a little background. I'm a sophomore in high school at a small rural school in Nebraska. The Friday before we had to take the PLAN test (project our ACT scores) I suffered a severe concussion at our second to last football game. I had terrible headaches, I couldn't concentrate very well, and just felt like crap for a week or two.

Then on Monday (3 days later). I had to take the PLAN test, which lasted several hours. Again, the headaches, nausea, and other side effects were fighting my concentration.

Fastforward to today: Counselor comes and says he wants to show me my results. I don't have them in front of me right now (he wouldn't let me keep them), so I'm going off the top of my head.

I know I got above average check marks on all categories. I scored in the 96th percentile on like 4 or 5 subjects, and my projected ACT Composite was 28-32! From the way he acted, I believe I got the highest score in my grade.

I'm pretty excited about this, and I'd like to know how much better it would have been if I was able to fully concentrate.

Anyone else take the PLAN test? Care to share your results?

I took the PLAN last year and I got the same results. I hate the ACT and I'm pretty bad at it (got a thirty composite in December). I'm sticking to the SAT which has been my favorite big standardized tests since I first took it at the age of 12. And I'm way better at it. I got 226 on my last PSAT and feel like I did really well on the SAT I took last weekend.

30 is decent. I wouldn't be too upset with it. Unless you are shooting for a big Ivy League school or something...

I took the PLAN last year. Got a perfect on the science section, a 24 or something on the math, a 28 on the English, and a 27 on the reading. My projected score was 29-33. I guess it was pretty accurate, because my ACT from December was 32, but my math, English, and reading scores were WAY up and my science was way down. Kind of weird.

It's nice that the ACT math has been friendly to me, because SAT math seems to kill me. I guess I'll have to see what my SAT score from last weekend turns out to be.

Took the PLAN two years ago and was in the 26-30 range. Then took the real ACT and got a 34. Its a much less effective predictor than the PSAT.

I got a projected 28-30 or something and ended up getting a 34 without any practice.

I got a 23 on the PLAN...so community college for me.

But it says I'll get a 24-28, but I'm going to work to get 32+

I got a 16/17, which is a projected low twenties....:(. I don't think I did very well b/c a.) I didn't take it seriously. b.) I wasn't feeling well. and c.) I didn't use my time very efficiently.

I'm not going to college!

The PLAN test told me I'd get a 14-18. I didn't study for the real thing and got a 31. Don't take it too seriously.

the plan results for me were a bit crazy and not expected, but at least i know what i need to study:

perfect scores on the english and the reading (expected because of 78V and 78W psat)
31 on the math (really surprisingly well because of 60M PSAT)
23 on science

science is such a beeotch.

I know! The "science" section is so irrelevant. And it doesn't have anything that you'd EVER have to do in real life or college.

For me, it was 35 English, 36 Math, 32 Reading, and well, 21 science...

Kills me too. You're not alone.

Pshh, probably less, as your concussions quickened your thinking processes and regurgitated old academia related things that you would otherwise have forgotten.

LoonLake

Yeah the science screwed me too, but to a much lesser degree than it did to you lol.

Anyway I think the PLAN is a pretty accurate predictor of your first ACT composite score. All of my friends and I scored in the range predicted by the PLAN on the ACT.
