ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy men's soccer player McKenzie Plank was one of 15 Patriot League players named to one of three teams on the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region teams, it was announced on Wednesday. Plank earns Navy's first All-Region honor in five years, after Brian Steckroth garnered first-team accolades in 2001.

Plank, a senior from Mountain View, Calif., wrapped up a strong senior season with a team-high 19 points (8 g, 3 a). Besides leading the team in points, Plank paced the Mids in goals, assists, shots and game-winning goals. Plank scored in eight of Navy's 16 games, including a two-goal performance in a homecoming of sorts in a win over Cal Poly. He added three points against Saint Joseph's and Mount St. Mary's and scored goals in five of Navy's first nine games. His 19 points were the third-best total in the league and his 1.27 points per game average was second. The 19 points are the most for a Navy player since Brye Gerhardt's 21 points in 2000. Since Navy joined the Patriot League in 1991, just three players (Gerhardt, Seth Walters [20 in 1991] and Tim Bordan [24 in 1992]) have scored more points in a single season since Plank.

Navy finished the season with a 5-9-2 overall mark and a 1-5-1 in Patriot League play. The Mids struggled through injuries all year long as nine players missed at least three games. All nine of them started at least one game.
