I'm planning to come visit & tour UCSB over my spring break (April 11th-19th, if you count the weekends) and I know that overlaps with Easter. Does UCSB give students a few days off for the Easter holidays? Because I want to make sure I visit on a day when students are on campus, not away with their families! Please let me know so I can plan my trip accordingly.

UCSB could care less if students went home for the weekends or even during the week. but UCSB isnt a commuter school so you’ll find students on campus everyday of the week. but usually they’re in their rooms studying on sundays or on the lawns getting a tan and studying

I know but I just want to know if there’s like an “easter break” or something scheduled.

No, there is no easter break, we already had our spring break and the only other holiday we have if memorial day. So i’m pretty sure there will be plenty of students roaming around during the weekday. Good idea in visiting when theres students like that you’ll get an idea of what it’s like. :]

Avoid Del Playa like the plague. Unless you like seeing a conglomerate of immature morons running around drunk and/or high.

if so… i wonder why so many people come to UCSB especially on Halloween. People from out of state come. even students from UCLA came this year. Halloween on DP has become so huge, the police blocks of a square area of 4-5 blocks 3 days prior to Halloween; they call in extra policemen from surrounding areas to keep the “immature morons” from injuring themselves and others.

^Sorry for my incredible bias. I just don’t feel like SB is a good fit for me.

Thanks lostinmotion, just wanted to make sure. :] Last time I visited (a few years ago) I made the mistake of going during UCSB’s spring break, and the campus was sort of empty.
