I apologize in advance for the tremendous length. (this is one of my first posts on this board so if this is unacceptably long just tell me)
Hey, I’m going to be a sophomore next year and I’m attempting to map out my EC’s for my next 3 years. I’m aiming towards HYP and this is what I have so far (yes I know, these are far from astounding and Im most certainly not getting on these stats, however I am the top of my class in the biggest school in Arizona <em>950 kids</em> and I am working to bring my ECs up to par) btw my school is not competitive at all, I am also worried that I am spreading myself too thin
Clubs Last Year:
Treasurer of the only political club on campus
Only freshman involved in: National Forensics League (Speech and Debate), Academic Decathlon, Model UN, Diversity Club, Volunteering Club
Active Member in: Ecology Club, Math League
Volunteering: At my church w/ kids (10 hours), Ecological Projects/Recylcing w/ Ecology Club (10 hours), Represented my school at Martin Luther King Breakfast (only freshman and I’m white if that matters)
Awards so far: Top scorer for all freshman at my school for National Math Test (AIMES??) and State Math test (top 10% in state), 2nd place for Novice Policy Debate in tournament, Gilbert Golden Scholar (given by my school so it basically means nothing), Renaissance Man (again, given by my school)
Will certainly have leadership/board positions in:
Sophomore year: National Forensics League, Ac Dec, Volunteering Club, Political Club (all minor postions)
Junior Year: NFL (VP), Ac Dec (minor position), Volunteering Club (VP/Prez) Political Club (VP), Ecology Club (minor position), Model UN (minor position), NHS (probably just a member)
Senior: NFL(prez), Ac Dec (prez), Volunteerin Club (prez) Political Club (prez) Ecology Club (minor postion), Model UN: (VP/Prez), NHS (minor position)
What I hope to do with these positions:
UNIFY CLUBS AND SUPPORTING JOINT EFFORTS
National Forensics League: Expand Club (open to ideas from you guys)
Political Club: Expand GREATLY, Possibly divide into Republican/Democrat (if I get enough people), Organize support for campaigns, political rallies, Create Awareness of politics at my school (open to ideas from you guys)
Ac Dec: Expand Club (open to ideas)
Ecology Club: Expand Club, Organize ecological projects (hikes, volunteering), Create student awareness about the environment, get involved in politics?? (joint effort w/ politics club to write to congressmen about ecological concerns??), open to ideas
Volunteering Club: Expand Club, Organize Volunteering Projects (joint effort w/ ecology club, NHS??) open to ideas
Model UN: Expand Club, Create Greater Awareness of World Affairs (joint effort w/ Ecology, Political clubs), Write congressman on global issues etc.

Things I hope to accomplish with vounteering: I will be devoting much of my voluteering time to the Child Crisis Center once i turn 16, hope to gain about 300 hours there (My dad died when I was little and I like to work w/ children during tough times)
I want to become an intern with something business related
I want to go to Harvard Summer Program
I Currently am taking Courses at John Hopkins Program for Talented Youth (very selective)
I need ideas for summer programs/interships
I am going to take classes at a local community college
I am learning guitar and piano
I hope to spread the clubs I lead to other school and expand them there.
I read in spare time, especially philosophy
I am a 15-year-old white, middle class, male if that matters
I am currently not involved in any athletics except working out. I am pretty strong. I dont know if I should get involved in athletics. Help is appreciated.
I am open to any suggestion anyone may have as far as what I am doing and what I should do. My academics and GPA are not in jeopardy due to my schedule and my SAT/PSAT/AP/SAT subject/ACT scores are on par with the Ivies (as far as I know with practice test and such). Any help advice or comments are greatly appreciated. Again I apologize for the length.
