Planning the PharmD Curriculum

Any advice for PP1/PP2 would be great!
Would you agree that following EMSOP's recommended planning is the best way? Or would you move some classes around (whether summer term or not)? To me, there doesn't seem to be much wiggle room. PP1 specifically.

NOTE: Intro to Experimentation is already moved to spring term (I think because students need to take Gen Chem before taking this class)

For PP2, is it possible to get the Humanities/Social Science Electives out of the way during the summer before PP2 starts? As in, can I take that one H/SS E from fall and those two H/SS E from spring and do ALL THREE (9) during the summer before I begin my second year? New schedule would look like the one below:
FALL: Orgo I (4), Intro to M (3), Elements of P (4), and P/S E (3)
SPRING: Systems (3), Orgo II (4), Orgo Lab (2), and Basic Stats for R (3)

Or is that going overboard? I just want to be able to balance Orgo and stuff that year since I hear it's difficult and all.

****Let's say that instead (or also) that I move Systems from spring to the summer before PP2. Will that affect me in any way when I take Orgo II in spring? Does that class help with Orgo II (retaining info, etc.)?

I haven't looked at P1 and beyond yet. I would love it if someone could talk about that but right now I'm more focused on PP1/2. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Well, the schedule flexibility really depends on if you are APing out of any classes. For example, most of my friends and I APed out of Gen Bio (I and II AND lab). So we took one gen psych PP1 fall and Intro to Micro and 2-3 electives last spring semester.

Now (rising soph here), we are gonna take Basic Stats in the fall and 1-2 electives and in the spring, we are planning on taking one professional elective (you are allowed to take only ONE).

Honestly, don’t worry about it now… Just AP out of biology!!! My friends who didn’t/couldn’t were able to manage, but bio just takes up SO MUCH TIME.

Also, you are not allowed to take the core science classes in the summer. Like not sure if you can take systems in the summer.

Hey, all you need to know is this: just finish PP1/PP2 curriculum your 4th college semester. LOL
Other than that, it’s just personal preference on how many credits you wanna take, what you wanna do during a specific semester, and etc.
