Plans for summer.

So yeah, i'm going to college this fall, and i'm trying to make this the best summer ever. Here's my plans:
JUNE:
My B-day
getting laptop

July:
NYLF Medicine Summer Camp in UCLA (gonna fly over there, and stay for a week)

Bike and Camp trip in the San Juan Islands, Washington... basically you bike 30+ miles a day, and enjoy nature's best, and sleep with nothing but a sleeping bag and the branches of trees being roofs. I am in love with biking and nature and surviving with almost nothing, so this will be VERY FUN! goin with my best friend and his church group. a week long

August: Totally do whatever the hell i want. Go to the mall, buy some stuff, bike, do crazy **** wit friends, spend my savings (lol... not all of it... gotta save some for my stock market portfolio), just total freedom!!!!!!!

September: Start college intro seminars and classes.

Oh, i got into college by a special program (i'm 15, lol..... i got into the University of Washington and its Honors Program, which is harder to get into than Cornell, Dartmouth, and Brown... i'm talking about the Honors Program... and UW is ranked around 30 in the top universities list, and going up because UW is trying to make it into the top 20.... considered a public ivy by everybody).

So there is a camp for the 35 people who made it into this program, and we basically go camp out in Camp Indianola where we get to know our peers and everything. Pretty cool... and again, nature will be every where.

Gonna go buy a ton of supplies for school. New Backpack, laptop carrying bag, notebooks, watev.

Go shopping for new shoes, hats, shirts, sweaters, pants, watev... clothing

Any suggestions. i am totally filled up in July.

Take your permit/license classes. =P

nah.... i would rather ride my bike for now.

How about BE A KID? Why is everybody rushing to go to college. Part of high school is the actually being a kid. Ok, rant over. Have a fun summer =]. PS You going to any concerts?

Because we want to get out of this place. There's nothing for me to be a kid with. My parents don't let me go see anyone.

Unless you think being a kid means sitting on the couch all day. Then personally, I've never ever enjoyed just being a kid. Very boring.

No being a kid means enjoying high school. Academics should only be like 25% of your high school life. What about like going to football games? Being in the school play? PROM? Why would you want to miss those things?

cool a stock market portfolio. do you watch CNBC? do they give good advice? i'm suspicious of mad money.

those things really aren't that important. plenty of people complete four years of highschool perfectly happily without being involved in anything. and plenty are involved in everything and really happy.

LOL. Mad Money is crazy with Jim Cramer, but very informative... there are times when Jim Cramer just cracks me up because he has so much freakin energy... he acts like a sugar-high kid, but still has the brains of Warren Buffet. I actually believe college will give me an access to a better social life, and life in general. Sure, 4-10 hours of homework a day, but come on! MUCH MORE FREEDOM from both parents and obviously skool (hey, its not high school anymore). I think that freedom alone pretty much makes up for it (hey, i got the classical asian parents, so this new sense of freedom will open a new epoch in my life.... pretty lame, but true). holy *****, i can't wait.

Roman You don't have to miss those things, but honestly, foot ball games and prom and crap aren't that great. You only do it so you don't feel like you're missing out on something. Seriously, if I was free to go out with whomever I liked, I would have not gone to prom and football games. AND those things happen during school, not during the summer.

BASS MASTER I CANT WAIT EITHER!!!!

I'll give you the football (we have the best football team in the state and I've only been to one game) but I just think that you will regret it. I could be in college now but I wouldn't give up high school for anything. I just don't understand why everybody wants to skip that is all.

PS I'm going to a summer program over the summer too.

"i'm 15, lol."

That's gonna suck man. I think like half the college experience depends on being in the same age group as everyone else. I mean, you can't even drive!

seems crazy to me how many people here want to get out of highschool, not because of the work but because of socializing. yes, i want to go to college, but aside from a few classes, i don't want to leave high school.

house parties, foot ball games, basketball, home coming, PROM, grad bash, sr. week, graduation, project graduation, hotel parties... wouldn't want to skip any years, and wouldn't trade them for anything.

Besides, in high school you can just enroll at your local community college.

If I was to do that now (I'm a freshman, and I've skipped a grade), I would be at the about the same stage in college as you are (when I graduate), and enjoy having a social life (with people my age).

And I hate to knock down your college of choice, but you're definitely overrating it.

hey. my highschool experiences were great... PARTIES (hell yea), girlfriends, football games, dances, and everything... but here's college:

1.) More studying
2.) All out binge drinking on celebration days with no classes the next day (lol.... vodka and orange juice for all)
3.) Much more freedom (obviously)
4.) Wider range of friends
5.) Getting a head start in life (atleast for me)

O, lol, also, if i was to stay in high school, all my classes would be running start, so there is no point for me to stay in high school. Get my point?

LOL... go ahead and criticize me about how proud i am for my university. lol... i don't care, i'm going to Johns Hopkins or stanford for graduate (eh, i have the brains, determination, effort, persistence, and everything... i'm currently a sophomore in high school, and i have taken 5 AP classes, 3.9+ GPA, president of like every club..... enjoys crazy social life (omg, don't get me started)... and everything. But hey, wen it all comes down to it, the only thing that matters about this topic is if i'm happy right? lol

Nah. not really overrating it. UW has gotten extremely competitive in the west coast. DOn't even get me started about its Honors Program. Cornell can eat its dust.

ewwwww

for drinking to get drunk, liquid cocaine(151, jager, goldenschlager) is hard to beat. but jager bombs are more fun

u a fckin druggie? I don't take illicit drugs. and i was kidding about binge drinking. I'm probably gonna only drink a couple glasses wit friends during extremely joyous times in college (before breaks, during dances, wat ev)

"LOL... go ahead and criticize me about how proud i am for my university. lol... i don't care, i'm going to Johns Hopkins or stanford for graduate (eh, i have the brains, determination, effort, persistence, and everything... i'm currently a sophomore in high school, and i have taken 5 AP classes, 3.9+ GPA, president of like every club..... enjoys crazy social life (omg, don't get me started)... and everything.
I don't think you can honestly say that with a straight face after reading the Chances threads on this forum. Take a look at some of those college applicants applying to the elite schools like Ivy's and such. They have way more AP's, perfect GPA's (and crazy high weighted GPA's), tons of EC's and community service, and basically a million awards. These are the people that make it into Ivies. If you make it into a college with the stats you listed, it's a good college, but not comparable to the types of colleges that accept students with the stats I listed.

But anyways, I hope you have fun and succeed in college.

O. lol, the entrance to the program i went into is much easier than actually getting into HOnors while being a senior. LOL LOL LOL... average honors student had 4.0, like 9 AP's.... dude, don't argue..... the statistics says it all. By the way, i got the stats from the Honors main office, so yea, don't tell me its not reliable.

BUT I DON"T GIVE A ****

i'm just happy i got in, and will be able to pursue my passion as early as 15. OMG. can't wait

as for the drinking, my favorite is hard lemonade or vodka with Korean Yogurt Drink.
