Plea for help- answer needed SOON

I'm a senior, trying to decide a Honors course drop.

I have three honors currently. The one I'm trying to drop is a history class. School requires students to take history for 3 years but I decided to take it for the forth year. Now I'm trying to drop it for various reasons-among them is the concern that my gpa is likely to go down somewhat because of it.The class may even affect my other courses that require a ton of work.

If I dropped it, I have two choices: a regular history class or a double-up in English, which is one of my strongest subjects.

For top schools, would my choice affect how the colleges view the "rigor" of my course selection? Also, which of the two alternative solutions would be better?

So...honors, or gpa?

Please give me some advice- I'd appreciate it greatly. Thank you soooo much.

"For top schools, would my choice affect how the colleges view the 'rigor' of my course selection?"

Your question should be: "Will my choice affect the rigor of my course load?"

And the answer is yes to both questions--it will make your workload easier.

That said, I'd still advise you to take something you're interested in and will learn in. If you think you'll really benefit from a second english class, go ahead and take it.

GPA is more important than +/- one honors course.
