I found out one of my classmates is going to Yale for track. My school usually sends max of 2 people to ivies. I am also applying to Yale for regular decision. Since they already accepted someone from my school, will my chances go down of getting into Yale? It sucks cause I am way smarter than him and I should have gotten recruited for soccer but I was too late.

I don’t think it matters at all.

I hope so too!!

Any thoughts on my situation?

It doesn’t matter. An athlete in particular won’t matter.

Oh ok thanks.

Bumpppppppp ;)

You need to look at the big picture. Your competition is not the **one **kid from your school, it is the 27,283 other applicants, of whom only 8% will be accepted. Of course, those were last year’s numbers, this year’s might be worse.
Stop obsessing over things beyond your control. You did your best in high school to get good grades and test scores, to participate in EC’s, to write good application essays. Now everything else is out of your hands. “Fairness” has nothing to do with it. Move on…
Enjoy the rest of your high school experience. Spend a little time learning more about the other schools you applied to, where you are more likely to be admitted.
