ok i took the ACT to "balance" out my somewat bad SAT score. If I took the ACT w/o writing would the admissions office factor the higher ACT score in at all? Or do I have to retake the test lol...

You have to take the ACT with the writing section. It is required. People can look this up in the admissions office's FAQ (which is EXTREMELY comprehensive, by the way):

Our testing requirements will change with the introduction of the new SAT I. For the Class of 2011, students may submit either the "old" SAT I or ACT taken before March 2005, or the new SAT or ACT (which must include the writing section). As always, students must also submit three SAT II exams of their choosing. The Admissions Committee will continue to consider all test results in light of students' educational opportunities.

umm i already took the SAT but wasnt really happy with the score. My ACT score is a 34 and it is w/o writing. Will harvard consider this at all if I send it w/ the SAT and the subject tests?

I'm sure they'll see it and it definitely won't hurt you.

Harvard will see it, but the system technician may not include it in the computer printout of scores because it does not include the writing section. Again, it says the ACT MUST INCLUDE THE WRITING SECTION. I don't think they are going to waver on that point.

To make a long story short, I would call the admissions office and find out for yourself.

ah ic...thx
