Background
I am a junior at a Florida private school that has sent a few people to Penn and has an overall good record of sending kids to great schools. My legacy connection also has a research institute at Penn named after him and he graduated from Wharton to become very successful
Academics:
-I have a 3.5 ish GPA (yikes!) but that is taking some of the hardest classes that my school offers
-By the time I graduate I will have taken 11 APs and the rest honors except for Pre calc as a sophomore
-PSAT projections show a likely 1450-1600 (out of 1600) on the SATs so as of now lets use a 700-700 as my score
ECs:
-Varsity track 3 years
-School Paper 2 years
-Lead America Conference on Medicine
-6 different mission trips including in Florida and Costa Rica (more to come)
-active in my church's youth group and will finish with 200+ service hours from there alone
-Member of Key Club 2 years
-play in a band with friends (not really sure how to show this)
-will apply to a Penn Pre-college summer program where I will take college classes (shows ability to succeed in college specifically at Penn)*essay topic?
-organized drives to local pantries with my school
Recs:
I always build a great rapport with teachers and have many that I believe will write me excellent recommendations.
Essays:
I consider creative writing one of my strong suits so I am sure that my essays will stand out

With all these considerations could you please chance me keeping in mind that I am a legacy and will apply ED thanks and God Bless

I am looking to study some combination of Econ, Poli Sci, and History likely double major in the first and a minor in the third if that affects admission at all

Your intended majors have no bearing on admission. I am wondering why aren’t you asking your grandfather to help you gain admission. In addition to legacy, you may qualify as a development case. If there’s an institute named after your grandfather, he should know who to call.

Unfortunately he is no longer with us however if you could just tell me what that is I would greatly appreciate it. Also I forgot to mention that I will finish school with 350+ service hours.

sorry, I have no idea what a “development case” is. But with regards to your admissions, it will depend almost entirely on your essay. You really need to stand out from the thousands of more qualified applicants. I’d say you have a decent chance.

development cases are students whose parents or family are likely to contribute large amounts of money to help “develop” the schools and make renovations, increase property, etc. I think you have a very decent shot. Good Luck to us :)
