My first semester grades are pretty solid. I'm taking 5 APs right now.

I'd like chances for Ivies, Amherst, and Swarthmore. :) Thank you SO much!

Good chances at all of them. Obviously it’s a shot in the dark with the acceptance rates so low, but based on your numbers I think you’ll get in to at least one.

Not to be a ■■■■■ or a jerk, but I’m going to take a big laugh on that. It’s not mockery towards you personally, but rather towards the level of education on people’s literary levels nowadays. I’m sure colleges will like your reputation as a novelist, but those truly educated in literature won’t. The media praises crap novels because it talks about bs issues that people will buy into, rather than classics and literary geniuses. But then again, admission officers are admission officers for a reason (Not saying that they’re stupid or anything, but come on).

CalvinTBOD - My mistake, I could have worded that better. I write young adult novels about high school stuff. My focus is on getting kids to read more, and teens who don’t read aren’t as likely to pick up a classic as they are to read something they can relate to. But I get where you’re coming from!

Oh okay. I thought you were one of those Stephanie Meyers wannabes who achieved undeserved popularity.

Anyways, for your chances: it’s all possible. Ivies are always a crapshoot, but again, it’s possible. You’ll probably be definitely accepted into Swarthmore and Amherst. Your GPA is a bit below the usual Asian Ivy acceptee, but like I said before, admission officers are going to like the fact you’re a well-known novelist, it’s a great EC. But you can still do a lot of things to improve your chances, such as boosting your GPA, getting your SAT over 2300, or getting another SAT II over 750.

Haha, nah, I kind of hate Twilight.
Thanks so much! My GPA should go up after this semester, but all my apps are in now, so I can’t retake SATs. But thank you! :)

YOur class rank could have been better… your scores are competitive for most schools though HYPMS expect a little higher… you should make it into atleast one ivy!!

Yeah, they’re gonna like your books. A lot I’d think. I think you have a pretty good chance everywhere, at least as much of a good chance as anyone can have at the ivies.
