PLEASE Chance me for Cockrell Engineering at UT Austin

Hey guys, new user here. I'm currently an in-state Senior, and UT Austin is my dream school. I really wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Specifically, I want to attend Cockrell School of Engineering as a Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering Major. I was curious as to if anyone who is currently in the program or who has been in the program can chance me at acceptance. Thanks in advance for your time. Here is a little bit about me.

-Class Rank: 7 out of 430 (Top 2%)
-SAT: 1940 (1340)
-2 year varsity football
-2 year varsity soccer
-Sophomore class president
-4 years foreign language
-will have taken most difficult curriculum possible (8 AP)

I would truly appreciate any input from somebody in the Engineering school or anybody who has an idea of what their looking for. Thanks again.

bump bump bump

What was your SAT Math

My math score was 700

You should get into UT automatically.

You should probably get into mechanical engineering without problems.

I heard petroleum might be a bit harder but you should get in.

Have you finished AP calculus AB or BC?

I 2nd texaspg

I will have auto admission to Texas for sure it’s just getting into the engineering program I’m a little worried about, and no I’m taking AP calculus this coming year. As long as I get into Mechanical I will not mind being rejected from petroleum because yes it is a little more competitive.

That makes me feel a little better, do you guys happen to know when about I will hear back from the engineering department?

Any other opinions would be lovely :p
