Please chance me for ED?

<p>So I should be hearing back within the next 15 days, but I’m freaking out a bit more than usual right now so can someone please chance me so I can be less stressed.
BU is my #1 choice and if I don’t get in I don’t really know what my back up would be.</p>

<p>From a top 3 competitive public school in NJ
GPA: 3.6 out of 4
ACT: 28
Didn’t send in my SAT scores since it was a bit lower
Taken 2 honors classes, 1 AP class and 2 advanced classes and then the rest regular classes (I don’t know about the rest of the schools in the country, but in my county the regular classes at my school are known as being as tough as the honors classes at nearby schools)</p>

<p>I’ve taken all the standard 5 academic classes (English, History, Math, Spanish, Science) all 4 years and have taken at least 1 or 2 electives each year</p>

<p>ECs:
Volleyball (school and club)-9th and 10th
Interact Club-11th vice president, 12th president
Key Club member- 10th-12th
Leadership programs (only offered to juniors and seniors)-11th and 12th
In charge of my school’s television station-11th and 12th (and took part 9th and 10th)
Won a commercial contest-11th
Summer camp counselor-11th and 12th
Spent weekends in NOLA helping rebuild-9th and 11th (hoping to do it again this year)
Help out at my temple-9th-12th
Member in my local jewish youth organization-11th
Member on the Honor Council-11th
Have done countless hours of other community service(food kitchen, habitat for humanity, etc)-9th-12th
I feel like I’m forgetting something, but I can’t remember what</p>

<p>I worked really hard on my essay and I believe it turned out really good and personal
Also I’ve talked to the admissions woman from my district enough times that I’m pretty sure she recognizes my name by now. Hopefully that proves to her how committed I am.</p>

<p>I also have two good teacher recommendations and an amazing third recommendation from the advisor for my school’s television station</p>

<p>I applied to the College of Communications to major in either Broadcast Journalism or Radio/TV</p>

<p>I am a BU alum with a D who is currently a junior, there. And I have another D who has applied, strong credentials.</p>

<p>I’m around campus a lot, and keep up with college admissions regionally and nationally, as I work closely with public school administration.</p>

<p>Your roster of accomplishments is quite finely tuned, there’s a lot of stuff there that seems piled on. Please bring it down to this: What four aspects about you make you stand out? Let me know, or better yet, did you get them in that essay.</p>

<p>I see you want to be in communications? Some of my dorm buds went on to broadcast TV news and newspaper careers. How’s your writing? I see that you seem a bit uncertain about your essay?</p>

<p>You shouldn’t be if you are headed for communications . . . draft, draft, draft.</p>

<p>Are you applying for financial aid? Or merit scholarships? </p>

<p>You should be able to get in. If not COM, CGS for sure. CGS has a lot of alumni who have done very well, and are big supporters of BU, after the fact.</p>

<p>Thank you for your advice. I’m apply for financial aid, but I’m not expecting to get much from it. I don’t know if that factors in or not. I really hope I get in. It’s quite intimidating seeing everyone else’s stats on here. I guess I’ll have my final answer within the next 9 days though, so we’ll see!</p>
