Please chance me for Emory and University of Georgia, Chapel Hill

3.5 Unweighted GPA and 4.10 Weighted
Freshman: All honors classes (3.7 GPA)
Sophmore: 2 AP and all Honors (3.3 GPA)
Junior: 2 AP and all honors (end of year is 3.5 Total GPA)
Could I get into Emory University?
Sophomore year I really struggled due to severe bullying and moved to a new school for junior year and my grades shot up.
Extracurricular: Year round swim, high school varsity swim (2nd at regionals and 6th at states), volunteer at hospital, Animal shelter, Salvation Army, retirement center. Orchestra and violist (all county and all state orchestra). Also Swim team captain for high school
Service learning hours: 60+
SAT: 1500
I do realize my GPA is low, and I do regret not transferring schools earlier.

How about MSU, Boston University.

If I have no chances in the colleges, what are other good colleges I have chance in?
I live in NC.

Thank you so much.

I think that you are a strong candidate for admission to UNC. Emory is likely, BU is highly likely to accept you. If MSU is Michigan State, then you should be admitted.

With respect to other college & universities, it would be helpful to know whether or not you plan to continue swimming in college & if your times are competitive for Division III level competition. Williams College is an outstanding LAC which places high value on athletics–as well as academics.

A 1500/1600 is a strong SAT score.

P.S. You have a very well rounded, accomplished background. I think that you would be a competitive applicant for an overwhelming number of most selective colleges & universities if you plan to continue with swimming & musical pursuits.

A 3.5 is well below the 25th percentile for Emory, and your SAT is about 50th- 60th percentile. So it will come down to your essays unless you can get recruited for orchestra. You can also apply ED to Emory if its your first choice.
EmoryED- Low Reach
Emory RD- Reach
BU- Low MAtch
MSU- Safety

Although I have not checked recently, I find it hard to believe that a 1500/1600 SAT score is only “about the 50th-60th percentile” for Emory University.

Thank you so much! @Publisher

Thank you @emorynavy the info helps a lot and tells me what my reaches are!

Just checked Emory’s SAT scores for class entering Fall 2018. SAT 25th % = 1390. SAT 75% = 1540.

As stated on Emory’s website: Math SAT 25th% = 700 , 75th% =790.

Reading 25th% = 690, 75th% = 750.

Another source lists Emory’s average SAT as 1430.

Other sources don’t Matter, what did Emory say.
https://news.emory.edu/stories/2018/03/er_admission_2018/campus.html

I wrote what Emory shared about matriculated, not admitted, students in post #6 above.

Admitted students who actually chose to attend Emory University have an average SAT score in the 1430 - 1465 range.

@Publisher
Emory has not released class of 2022 enrolled stats yet. What you saw is from class of 2021 enrolled (on the CDS profile ). Also you can’t guess 50th percentile from just averaging the 25th and the 75th. What they released is what the numbers are (for admitted class of 2022).
