I am currently a hs junior.

Gpa: 3.83 unweighted, 4.35 weighted

Class rank: do not know, but think I am in the top 10-15%

SAT: (my goal is to get into the 2000s)
SAT Subject tests: (want to take bio and a history)

Rigorous Classes:
Freshman: AP human geography, French 1, some honors classes, etc.
Sophmore: AP World History, AP Art History, French 2 honors, some honors classes, etc.

Went to another school that is a dual enrollment program

Junior: English 3 honors, Chem honors, 7 dual enrollment (semester long classes)- Ethics, US history 2, Psychology, Humanities, Biological issues, US history 1, and English composition.

I’m planning on taking 4 dual enrollment classes over the summer and 10 to 14 dual enrollment classes.

I will have my Asociates degree be for I graduate high school.

Extracurriculars:
Swim team (all 4 years)
(My school doesn’t offer many clubs)
Honors Program
Phi Theta Kapa (honors society)
Handbag independent sales consulant (9-10)

Volunteer:
(My goal is to get 250 or more hours)
Animal shelter, swim team timing and help, hospital

Work experience:
Job as lifeguard

Other things:
Apple Final Cut Pro Certification
CPR certified
Lifeguard certified

I was looking at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, NYU, Macaulay honors college, Wellsley, Barnard, etc.

What schools do you think I have a chance to get into?

No one on this forum, not even me, can give you a meaningful chance at MIT.

Why?

• Because the factors of admissions that can be readily apprehended in a forum post (GPA, SAT scores, etc) are in many ways the least important in our process.
• Because listing the school you go to or ECAs you are involved in does not communicate the degree to which you are a vibrant member of the community, does not communicate what your coaches or teachers or mentors will say about you, and those are the things we care about.
• Because it does not include any information about the interview, which is another critical insight into the candidacy of any prospective applicant.
• Because a forums post cannot communicate the complexity of an applicant's life story, circumstances, and so forth; even if they were to replicate all the answers to their essay questions, we still have additional data external to the application that we consider in understanding an applicant's context.

You’d have to go through the Common Data Set for each school on your list (google it) , but about 85% of accepted students at Harvard, Yale and Columbia were in the top 10% of their high class. So, if a student is somewhere in the top 10% to 15%, they need to realize that their chances are longer than most. That’s true even if your HS does not rank, as colleges can simply put all applicants from the same high school in GPA rank order and make a guess as to the pecking order. By all means apply if those schools interest you, but have plenty of target and safety schools on your list. Also, realize that NYU does not have a large endowment so most students do not receive financial aid. I’m not sure if that is a factor for your family, but you should run the Net Price Calculator (NPC) on all the schools on your list to see if your family can afford the school prior to submitting applications.
