<p>Hey guys, I have a 3.6 GPA, 2000 sat score, 30 act score, 11 on the sat essay,</p>

<p>ECs: Aviation, NHS, NTHS, Rocketry, Debate, Chess, UIL, I was in band and jazz band and Drumline, swim team, ultimate frisbee club, and engineering club</p>

<p>President/Creator of Aviation club, we've gotten 10 people to fly airplanes, recognized in the newspaper and on TV </p>

<p>President of NTHS</p>

<p>Section leader of band</p>

<p>Trying for class president this year</p>

<p>I have almost 2 years job experience as a book keeper</p>

<p>Started my own ebay business</p>

<p>Published Writer in a poetry magazine </p>

<p>Hopefully will have 200+ community service by the end of this summer </p>

<p>Hopefully a private pilots license by the end of the summer </p>

<p>Taking 8 AP classes next year, already taken 4</p>

<p>GPA will hopefully go way up next year</p>

<p>Retaking tests</p>

<p>Hispanic American </p>

<p>Possible hooks: Grandpa would've died if not for the hospital there, 1 place state chess champ in middle school, founded flight club, all state level marching band</p>

<p>Also, reason for lower GPA, parents nearly divorced 3 times in two years, I fell into mild depression. It’s all good now :)</p>

<p>Rice: Reach (your aviation club leadership mkes it reachable)</p>

<p>Are you sure Purdue, GA Tech or Embry-Riddle aren’t for you?</p>

<p>Embry riddle is fantastic, problem is the price! Plus Daytona beach is a sucky city IMO</p>

<p>Rice is a bit of a reach. i think you should apply ED if your sure its your top choice.</p>

<p>Actually, I think your SAT score is a Little low for Rice, at least, it would be better if you can get 2100</p>

<p>My score will go up by the time I apply, that much is certain. I foresee perhaps a 2050 and a super score of 2180. But now I’ve got to live up to that.</p>

<p>I would definitely try to shoot for a 2100 on the SAT, maybe even 2200. Your hook seems to be your aviation. It would be especially cool if you could get your pilots license! Try to emphasize your aviation hook in your application and write superb essays. And, as someone mentioned earlier, if Rice really is your first choice, apply ED. Good luck!</p>
