Please chance me for transfer Fall 2018

Hello! I am currently a freshman at NYU majoring Economics. I am thinking about transferring to Georgetown, Wellesley, and internal transfer to Stern (now I am in CAS).

Here are my stats:
GPA at NYU: 3.867
HS GPA: weighted 4.31
SAT: 1490 out of 1600
TOEFL: 111 our of 120 (I am an international student from China who attended a catholic high school in Connecticut.)
APs: micro and macro economic both 5; Calculus AB 4. Took a college level European history class at University of Connecticut and got an A.
Extracurricular activities: not much at NYU, but pretty good at High school.
Rec letter: should be good from my writing professor.

I was both waitlisted at Wellesley and Georgetown when I applied as a first year student. Georgetown Admission called me and told me to transfer next year. They told me my high school GPA was not good enough so I am really worried about my 3.867 GPA at NYU. Don’t know if being waitlisted before can give me another advantage on transferring…

I am working very hard on my essays… But based on my stats, do I have a good chance for these three colleges? Wellesley and Georgetown are my dream schools and I don’t like NYU for lack of a sense of community. ( I am transferring to Stern because of the name and the advantage of internal transfer I guess).

Also can someone please recommend some colleges to me that I have a good chance transfer into? I really want to go to a college that has a campus…so I need some matches to ensure I can escape from NYU…

@2018up I think you look sharp for Georgetown and Stern. I don’t have a comment on Wellesley. Stern usually prefers internal transfers over external. 3.86 GPA at NYU isn’t bad at all. You mentioned you don’t like NYC and wanna move to others cities or places. What states would you consider?

Hey @yankeebanger, I prefer northeastern states except New York and New Jersey.

@2018up Boston would be a perfect choice for you. Many opportunities as well as the beautiful environment. Also, you might consider PA as well. Look for Cornell, Tufts, Lehigh, CMU, BU, BS, Northeastern.
