Please chance me for UC, Caltech, MIT, some ivy leagues

Hi I would appreciate it if you took some time to rate where I stand in some college admissions.
Safety, most likely, match, high match, reach, no chance. Thanks!

Thanks guys Let me know if you want me to chance you back!

Pomona does not have your desired major.

UCI may be your only (almost) safety.

Thanks for responding @ucbalumnus
Pomona has a chemical engineering track w/ Harvey mudd and there’s always a chance of 3-2 program w/ cal tech so that’s why I had it on the list

@theChinaman I think you’re an extremely qualified candidate! Your GPA, course rigor, and standardized test scores are all basically perfect. The only thing that might hurt you is your lack of unique ECs and major awards. You definitely have strong ECs with great leadership positions that’ll keep you in the running, though.

I think you have great chances at all UC schools. The rest are all reaches, but not huge reaches. Good luck!

Harvey Mudd: Most Likely
Harvard: Reach
Pomona: Low Reach
Cornell: Low Reach
MIT: Reach
Caltech: Reach
Stanford: Reach, its Stanford
Rice: Match
Princeton: Reach
Carnegie Mellon: Most Likely
UC Berkeley: Match
UC Irvine: Most Likely
UCSD: Match
UCLA: Low Reach

Good Luck

Please do not rely on this, this is just my opinion.

Thanks guys. The reason I’m asking is because I don’t have a good understanding of where non-California schools rank. Growing up, I got a pretty good sense of how hard it is to get into California schools (because of my friends applying there), but for example, I never even knew what Vanderbilt and NYU were very good schools before senior year, and I hope to get some perspective about the schools outside of my state.

I don’t know where you got the idea that Pomona “has a chemical engineering track w/ Harvey Mudd.” Pomona does not allow off campus majors. You’d have to do a 3-2 program.

Hi Corinthian the professor whose class I am taking with there told me about the chemical engineering track with Harvey Mudd, that is the class I was talking about in my original post “Chemistry at nearby top ranked College”

I don’t know how many students actually do it, but from the Pomona Chem major page: “You may opt for a pre-professional chemistry curriculum that is certified by the American Chemical Society. A chemical engineering track is also available.”

More details (this is an addendum to the normal Pomona Chem major requirements - and yes, “HM” is Harvey Mudd)…
“Chemical Engineering track: MATH 060 PO and ENGR 082 HM are taken to fulfill the chemistry elective requirement; MATH 102 PO, ENGR 131 HM, ENGR 133 HM are recommended. Participation in the HM Engineering Clinic for two semesters is required, and both oral and written presentations of the student’s contribution to the clinic project are used to satisfy the senior capstone exercise by enrollment in the experimental Senior Thesis (CHEM 194 PO).”

Just got into Berkeley w/ regents scholar. 1 down. Several more to go
