1430/2400 or 920/1600. I know they’re terrible, but I’ve been taking SAT prep courses to help me do better. Also, my GPA is a 3.8, ignore that other stuff I wrote

Bear in mind that the ability of universities to do holistic assessments of applications (i.e., give weight to factors other than grades and SATs) goes way down as their size goes up. With 25,000 undergrads, UGA almost has to lean heavily on the quantitative measures such as SAT.

UGA has become quite competitive and it would be helpful for you to become familiar with their admissions blog. A link can be founf on their website. The most important thing to consider is that UGA recalculates your GPA using a very specific formula (that you can find on this blog) and it will probably be lower than what your school transcript will show. The other posters are correct in that your test scores will also need to be in a competitive range (again, you can find the 2012 freshman class profile on this blog). I would encourage you to apply RD so that you have a more holistic review.

Your SAT has destroyed you. Good GPA though. Apply and see what happens. With budget cuts, schools are looking to accept more out of state students for financial reasons.
