Does it mean anything that by the time I graduate I will have 6 credits of language (Spanish, Hebrew)?

Strengths: EC's and difficult course load

Weaknesses: Unweighted GPA? I know my SAT is low for now, but I hope to raise that up to a strength.

*I am very concerned that my grade of 72 the 1st semester of sophomore year in my Accelerated Math 2 class will greatly affect my chance of admission.

---Senior Course Load will include 4-5 AP's
(Total number of AP's:8-9)

You look like you are on track for being accepted at UGA. Take a look at their Admissions website for more detailed info on how they calculate your gpa. Only factor your academic classes and foreign language classes for your UGA gpa. You could contact UGA, but depending on how your school posts your grades on your transcript UGA might only see your year end grades (and assuming you pulled up that 72, it wouldn’t be an issue).

And if your school adds any points to your AP grades, you are not eligible to add another .5 to the gpa.

Work on getting your CR score above 600 and focus on making the best grades possible this year and you should be fine.

US News ranks John S. Davidson Fine Arts School - Richmond County as the top public school in Georgia (Ranked #100 in the country).

The Silver schools are:

A. R. Johnson Health Science & Engineering Magnet High School - Richmond County
Calhoun High School - Gordon County
Central Gwinnett High School - Gwinnett County
Clarke Central High School - Clarke County
Columbus High School - Muscogee County
Dalton High School - Whitfield County
Heritage High School - Rockdale County
Norcross High School - Gwinnett County
Rockdale County High School - Rockdale County
Savannah Arts Academy - Chatham County

You are doing fine in with the ECs and Community Service. However, you need to raise your GPA and SAT scores (as you stated). If possible, try sending UGA your midterm report in order to show them that you are doing well your senior year (don’t send this if it’s going to hurt your GPA).

Because you go to one of the top schools in GA, UGA most likely expects you to have a certain number of APs. I go to Columbus High School (I think we’re 3rd in GA now?) and my school offers around 15 APs and UGA expects a lot from us. So your course rigor needs to be up to par! If you’ve taken a lot of honor classes, make sure you mention which ones!

Aside from that, there isn’t much you can do now. What’s done it done and it’s hard to change your SAT scores and GPA this late in the game. While it’s definitely possible, most colleges stop accepting SAT scores after this upcoming test on the 22nd.

I think you have a fair chance of getting in, right now. If anything, your GPA will hurt you the most (since your weighed GPA is pretty weak considering a lot of students have UW GPAs at 3.8). So take the SAT this weekend and make sure you get above a 1900 (That’s what I got and I made it in).

Other than that, you’ll have to emphasize what sets you apart from everyone. Spend most of your time on the resume focusing on accomplishments and leadership roles. Write an amazing essay and get a good teacher for your recommendation and all of this may be able to outweigh you GPA.
