Worked at Outback one summer and ran track sophomore year.

I've taken a rigorous course load throughout my high school career (AP's, Honors, etc.). I'm Arab-American if that helps at all.

Teacher recommendations: Really great. I couldn't have asked for better.

Essays: I think I wrote some great essays, but we'll see.
Find X, where x is my drive to learn and to discover what has not yet been discovered
Why Chicago, I addressed the "why" in a letter to a boy who had questioned my motives
Optional, I talked about how I love epic poetry

In regards to the essays, you'd have to read them for yourselves, but those are general overviews.

Thanks for taking the time to read that and chance me. Also, I applied Early Action if that helps at all.

I am getting really nervous. I understand there’s nothing I can do about it, but I can’t help my basic emotions.

It’s too close to call… Do you feel that your essays greatly reflected your intellectual side?

Relax, you’re in. And if not, do you really think attending U of C or not should raise such emotions. Focus on what matters in life, which by your academic abilities you can figure out. Seek the higher, spiritual ways…not the paltry world of calculating your self-worth by a particular university admissions office’s assessment of your work.

Raul, I felt my essays definitely did, but I have no idea what the admissions officers will think.

Madame, I understand that. It’s just that it’s my dream school. Of course I can find happiness at another university, I’d just rather find it at Chicago. Thank you for your words of solace though.

Any other opinions?
