Do ED, it really helps for vandy

On paper, you have the makings of a very strong app. Being from Wisconsin could help too. Thejedo urged ED. If Vandy is your first choice, that could also help. Your resume is certainly strong enough already. Its not like you need to wait for 1st semester grades to get your GPA up or improve your class rank. Other suggestion is to show intense interest through visit(s) and contact with your regional counselor. Pick good recommender(s). Good luck to you.

Make sure you do the application for Chancellor’s Scholars. Standards are very high for those essays. Whether you are selected (1-2% chance) or not–the essays about your cultural heritage and how it impacts what you bring with you to campus matters greatly. All students bring family history and culture and motivations to campus. Tell what will be your contribution to your class at Vandy and at your other colleges. good luck! do the Chem prep book on that subject exam. Put down every card. Don’t worry about having offices in clubs. instead…put forth your vision on how you will use Vanderbilt brilliantly. Study up online on our Alternative Spring Break programs, on services Vandy offers to Spanish speaking Nashville, to agencies needing interpreters in legal and medical programs steps from campus or on campus. Look to your future…read Vandy magazines and research pages. I think too many students emphasize their already in the past high school lives as strivers. If you have a picture of yourself maxing out the campus in certain ways in learning academically and in service…tell all. Will you do Club Soccer? Will you lead Alternative Spring break trips as you age up in areas where Spanish is needed? Will you apply for Fulbrights? Do you have a major in mind yet?
