Grades are obviously not a problem for you. I don’t think it really matters how many hours you put in cause community service is so generic. But you look super involved in music, which is the highlight of your ECs.
Don’t ED to Upenn. Stanford is your dream school and you have a shot in getting accepted. Dream big.

All the Ivys are low reach
Saftey: Mich, Amherst, NYU (super safety),USC, UWash, Wash U in St Louis

Do mine! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1007745-my-chances-tufts-bu-urochester-usc-gw-more.html

Pretty solid chances. I would suggest making your ECs seem more unique, because activities like class board, varsity tennis, orchestra, etc. are a dime a dozen.

whats up with smart people and tennis :p

Wow, your profile is extremely impressive.

UPenn, Brown, Yale, Duke, Amherst, NYU, USC, University of Washington, Michigan, Wash U in St. Louis

Reach: UPenn, Yale, Stanford.
These are a reach for any applicant, but you have as strong of a shot as anyone at getting in.

High Match: Brown, Duke, and WUSTL.
Match: Amherst, USC, NYU (Stern)
Low Match/safety: UWashington, NYU (non stern)

I would do EA Stanford, and hold off on doing ED Penn. Reason being is that if you get into your dream school, well, then you can’t go there anymore cause ED is binding. I personally think you have a very strong shot at getting in UPenn RD anyways.

I didn’t apply to any Ivies or Ivy like schools. But at that level it’s all about the intangibles; what you can bring to the school. So EC’s are things that differentiate you and are very important. At these schools everyone is smart and energetic.

I am a senior at NYU in Stern. I was a Valedictorian, 1/350 My SAT’s were Math 740, Verbal 800, Writing 800, NM commended etc. I think like you my weakness was EC’s. I got in everywhere but waitlisted at WUSTL, but I did not apply to any Ivies.

Good Luck, those schools are very competitive. I suspect you have a very good chance at all your schools. It’s just that it’s somewhat of a crapshoot at that level as so many qualified kids are left out.

thank you everyone for the replies!

astonmartin-- what did you mean when you said make your EC “seem” more unique?

bump

anyone?

Bump again!! (:

Don’t apply ED to UPenn bc IMO, you have as good as a shot as anyone to get into Stanford. Good luck!

don’t ED Penn if you really want to go to Stanford…

On the other hand, as you noted, your ECs are a bit weak for Stanford in the sense that nothing is particularly unique, and Stanford tends to focus pretty heavily on ECs
