Your grades are a bit low, but your ACT is great. Your curriculum rigor isn’t very outstanding, not to say it’s bad, but some Wharton kids have taken 200 APs by the time they graduate high school. I don’t know what your school is like, so your GPA and rigor of schedule could be impressive. Your ECs are ok, but nothing outstanding. Penn looks for kids with really in depth activities. You have some good ones, but nothing that stands out. Lastly, your recs and essays are the most important. I don’t know how yours will affect your chances, so I can not give a completely legitimate chance. However, based on what you’ve shown, and I hate to say it, but your chances don’t look great. I don’t want to give you false hope, but I don’t think you will get in. That said, if you have outstanding recs and the best why penn essay ever written, you could still get in.

I think that my rigor of schedule is decent for my school because we don’t offer any AP classes before junior year and I work 30-40 hours a week on top of school and extracurriculars and my father was laid off which lowered my GPA about .1 so would my GPA look better because i have told them this?
