Please chance me!!!!

I’m a junior at a public school in NJ. I will major in electrical engineering.

GPA: 3.9 UW 4.4 W

I took the SAT only once so far and got a 1350 (760 in math and 590 in reading). I’m planning to bring my score up to a 1400-1450.

AP Classes:
Physics 1
Physics C
Calculus
Computer Science Principles
Economics

I am on the cross country, winter track, and spring track team and I made varsity. I also am in National Honors Society and Peer Leaders at my school.

I have taken many honors classes throughout high school. I have always gotten an A in math and science classes. I also have really strong recommendations from my physics and calc teacher.

I was also wondering since I was applying for engineering would they care more about my 760 in math since I did pretty good in that.

Check Michigan’s Common Data Set, and look under Admissions. That should answer a lot of questions.

Your SAT target score is at the 25th percentile or below. It is not really high enough particularly for engineering. They do look at your Math section score more, but 760 is not so impressive for them either. The mid 50 Math score for CoE last year was 720-790 in old SAT scale, which is 750-800 in the new SAT scale. So 760 is just slightly above the 25th percentile.
