Please chance me!

I’m thinking about applying to Emerson College, Columbia University, Fordham University, New York University, Catholic University, George Washington University, and Yale University. I know that some are a major stretch but please be honest and let me know if I even stand a chance. Thanks!

Please…please don’t become a gender studies major…be a journalist, that’s a much better idea. Take the gender studies class, feel free to make it a minor. But please don’t take it as a major. There’s a joke with some truth in it that goes like this “What do you call a Gender Studies graduate? Unemployed.”

Journalism is a useful thing to major it. Music is pretty risky…but it’s not the worst. But for your sake please please don’t major in women’s studies…it’s honestly a waste of money and time. If you wanted to learn about that, find a library and start reading some books on the topic. But don’t major in it!

Anyway, I think that Columbia and Yale are out of reach, with the other college’s being high matches going up to reaches. Good luck.

Your extracurriculars are very strong, which should appeal to most of your colleges. However, while your GPA and scores might get you into New York University George Washington, and Fordham, I think they may be too out of reach for Yale and Columbia. Maybe focus your efforts on other colleges you have a better chance to get into. Good luck!

I wouldn’t not apply to Yale and Columbia, because literally anything can happen, but they’re probably just a touch out of reach for you, esp. if you don’t get your test scores up to the 34 ACT/1500 SAT range.

As for the other schools, you should be totally fine getting into the Catholic University and probably Emerson, too. I’d say Fordham and George Washington would probably be high matches/low reaches. Your biggest reach is probably gonna be NYU, but if you could get your test scores up a tad more it’ll definitely be possible.

Best of luck. x

Very good ecs, but i think you need higher scores for Ivies. I think that you have a chance in all the other schools though. Maybe chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/2005601-how-can-i-have-an-actual-chance-please-enter.html#latest
