Location: Washington DC area

High School Type: Science, Math, Computer Science Magnet Program

Extracurriculars

JV soccer freshmen/sophomore year, was captain sophomore year

Varsity Soccer junior year

Boys volleyball 3 years, captain sophomore/junior year

Made High Performance A1 Volleyball (freshmen year): Basically, there are tryouts nationwide, and the top 40 players are selected, only top ten in my position/age group get to go.

Made High Performance A1 Continental Team (sophomore year): Means that I wasn't good enough to be in the top 40, dropped one level down, now am one of the top 50-60 players in the nation in my age group/top 12-14 in my position.

Martial Arts: I have done martial arts since I was six years old and have been volunteering as a teacher since 6th grade

Note: I am not going to be recruited to play volleyball in college because I am way too short. In my position, colleges look for recruited players to be at least 6' tall, preferably around 6' 2'', but I am 5' 9'', around half a foot too short.

I am planning to apply to the ivies, Stanford, MIT, and some accelerated med programs, if you guys could tell me how I look, I would really appreciate it. I am especially curious about the accelerated med programs because I do not know what they really look for or how competitive they are.

Also if I am missing anything, please tell me. It's my first time really posting much on this site.

you seem pretty rounded and the volleyball thing is nice but you really should at least try the act.
and if you write some good essays you will have a chance

Do i have a good chance? a medium chance?

I am unsure if the extra curriculars I have will offset my lower gpa/SAT.

you have a chance but so do most of the applicants

to be honest, we can’t help you much. learn a lot about stanford and see if you love the school. show your passions (whatever they are) in your essays, get awesome recs, etc.

did you already write your essays and get your recs? (you said they were excellent)

you seem qualified but for getting in…idk
