Great ACT/SAT and decent ECs. GPA is okay for classes taken. The test scores should be enough to carry the app to some of those reach schools and will probably get into at least some, but not all.

Being from NC, I can say your chances on UNC Chapel Hill and Duke

-Chapel Hill: Great chance. It’s actually not as hard to get into as people make it out to be, especially with your scores. They focus more on scores than EC, so you should be fine for this school. However, try to raise that GPA cause you being out of state will decrease your chances. Especially since people with those SAT and ACT scores have higher GPA than that. I’d say your chances of getting in to Chapel Hill would be 9.5/10

-Duke: One of the top schools in the nation. Hard to get into, because they look at EC a tad bit more than total grades. Many people who apply to Duke have similar scores as you, so try to do more EC. MUN is great but try to join another club and get a high position in that. Note this however, these types of schools look more at position and leadership in a club/EC than the number of EC. So try to join an EC and get high leadership positions, don’t just join to join. Otherwise, with affirmative action and income bracket, it may be a bit more competitive for you than from minorities. I’d say your chances would be 7.9/10

Also, a final note: Do more EC’s relating to economics. MUN is great for your international business thing. Do something else that relates to economics more. It doesn’t have to be a club, it could be a week long program, but school like to see you pursue your career from all aspects since your are young.

Great applicant and you should get into most of these schools. Good Luck

Thanks @1650mile and @johonmilla , that was interesting to read through from both of you, but especially the second since it’s really great to hear from someone who lives in the state.

Would anyone else be willing to offer insight? Perhaps seniors who know where they’re going, parents, more instate people? Anything would be awesome. Would really appreciate it :)))
