I am a rising Sophomore and wonder if my planned schedule is rigorous enough for selective colleges. There are some limitations at my school e.g. No AP science class until senior year and religion (no honors) is required for 4 years. Many students at my school take the maximum load of APs and Honors and I am trying to put together a rigorous schedule that I could handle. I love music and art so I plan to take music or art for my 4 years of electives.
Freshmen year
English 1, Adv.Algebra/Tri H, Biology H, Spanish 2, Social Studies (one semester)/PE (one semester), Religion, Music. My school structures it so you take one semester of SS and one semester of PE during freshmen year.
Sophomore year
English 2, Pre Cal H, Chemistry H, Spanish 3, AP European history, Religion, Music/Art. I was thinking about taking English 2 H but am concerned if I could handle the load or not since I do quite a bit of volunteering and ECs.
Junior year
AP English Language, AP Calculus AB, Physics H, AP Spanish 4, APUSH, Religion, Music/Art. I do plan to take AP English this year assuming I qualify. Seems like many students are doing it.
Senior year
AP English Literature, AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Spanish 5, AP Econ (one semester)/AP Government (one semester), Religion, Music/Art.
Thank you!
