Ooh, that’s a witty one. gives curm another point

I don’t think I’ve ever LOL’d while using CC before :D
gives Philovitist a like

I have absolutely no reason to be chiming in on this forum, but nontheless, I shall… I too think the “reputation” bar is ridiculous… We can gleen a person’s reputation from his or her post count, and well… His or her actual reputation. =P

On another note, it’s a disgrace, Silverturtle only has one reputation block!=P

See, plum. You can get pleasure from others. You don’t have to always rely on yourself. That’s big progress.

I hate to be a killjoy… I am sure folks will get annoyed by this… but here goes…

There are folks without jobs/unemployment has run out, starving children within our city limits, people sleeping on park benches + under highway overpasses, some folks without health insurance that have catastrophic illnesses, earthquake ravaged homes… does a little green square really matter? I mean seriously… in the grand scheme of life. Even my own for that matter… a great square is just that. A green square. I’m just saying…

Not annoyed at all. Just wondering why ya didn’t use that time ya spent posting rescuing a baby harp seal.or feeding one of those homeless folks.

And yeah. The green boxes tick me off. But so does fb, most rap music, the fist bump, reality TV, color blocking,… . .

curm,
Your cry for help has been heard and as far as I know, Admin is working on letting members (including moderators I hope!) opt out.

NHCTm,
That could be said of the vast majority of posts here on CC, heck, CC in it’s entirety! And truthfully I think the feature undermines the CC community and is a deterrent to honest, straightforward dialogue. It’s not really about a green square.

x-posted w/curm

[I’ve seen some color blocking that I like :o]

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

You get it. ;)

curm, I knew I liked your opinions before, but now I know I’m spot on with them. I resisted the urge to “like” your first post, but I definitely do like it. I’ll be on the lookout for the disable feature.

I’ve always been able to tell who to listen to based upon the content of their posts and how much it fit our situation. Now I know I was wrong all along and there should have been green squares to look at. After all, there’s no way a “new” poster could have a clue no matter what their life experience is or has been…

well curm i just respect you too much to ever “like” you LOL

I’m with Curm…I despise the whole idea. Unlike Curm, I am too lazy to do anything about it. My method of coping has been to just ignore it completely. Apathy is my middle name.

I agree completely. I feel these little green squares, which someone decided to call “Reputation” are simply a popularity contest. If they really were designed to acknowledge a helpful poster, then we’d see which posts were helpful. But not even the poster who got a “Reputation” can figure out which post within a thread was particularly helpful.

Actually, you can click the link in your user control panel.

If so, that just happened. WooHoo!! I’ll go check.

Crap. Philo, the opt out option ain’t there. Yet.

I was talking about how you can see which posts have been deemed helpful.

“I’m on a mission. From God.” @ Blues Brothers

How can we resist liking these posts, Curmy? ;)

It says I have 18 points but it lists only 1 post. Is that because i can’t see the older ones or is it because all my points are from one post? If it is all from one, that is sad because I know I have written way, way better posts than the one I see.

Curm should be the new wizard of OZ with SO MUCH green! His posts look like the Emerald City!

I need glasses just to read them there is so much glare from SO MUCH GREEN!!
