Please help! CSULB?

Hi,

Thank you in advance for reading this!

I was previously a 4.0 student, but then I fell ill.
As a result my GPA is now only 2.9
I have several Ws as well.
At the time this happened I did not know why I was ill ( nor did my doctors) and so the instructors penalized me (fairly) for missing class.

I found out that I have a serious disease that precluded me from my attendance. My favorite Professor, who had to fail me for missing a final, actually apologized for having to give me the F after finding out the legitimacy of my illness.

When applying to Cal State Long Beach will they take that in to consideration? Especially considering my prior gpa, and with my gpa on the rise this semester?

I really would like to transfer as soon as possible, and while I am willing to retake the classes it means adding another year (and a lot of expense).

Thank you for any help!

Edit: I prefer CSULB because it is near my preferred specialists, which I need to maintain seeing to be healthy enough for school! :)

You need to indicate your illness in your admission paperwork. Are you currently a CC student?

My son and I recently visited LB in April and spoke to: an admissions counselor, an engineering counselor, and the dean of computer engineering. They all started their conversations by mentioning how competitive the admissions process is.

You may want to contact Long Beach and talk to the nurses at the student health center and get some support for maintaining your health. Then, from them, find an admissions counselor that is sympathetic to your health needs.
