Please help!Desperately needing advice about majors!!

Now that I got into college, my next big concern is what major I should choose
Btw I'm going to USC this fall.

I've always been thinking about doing a major in Business, but I'm not entirely sure so I applied to USC's Letters, arts, and science school instead of Marshall (I heard internal transfer is easy, so no worries if I wanna switch)

my question is, is an undergrad degree in Business worth it? I'm quite sure that I'll want a MBA degree after I graduate from college but if I already have a undergrad degree in Business, won't I be learning a lot of the same stuff when I go to grad school? Also, I see SOO many people major-ing in econ/biz that I don't know if I'll be able to separate myself from the crowd after I graduate from college with a biz major.

I'm not really sure what I can major in besides Business though.... I suck at science and I'm not good at math so majors like math or engineer are out of my league for sure. (I'll probably be able to handle minors though) I don't wanna do majors like pre-law, pre-med, pre-dentistry either because I want to go to a MBA school after college.

I'm thinking of doing something besides just a major in biz, like a minor in computer science (I'm taking AP Compsci and I find myself liking the subject a lot) or philosophy? :( I don't really knowww... Someone come save from this black hole of uncertainty please....

There was a post about this a little bit ago.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/business-major/1320714-business-major-questionable-value.html

It basically says that undergrad business degrees are worthless unless they are from one of the very tip top business schools. I don’t know how USC ranks for business so you may want to read that post.

It’s all what you do with it. Plenty of business majors are quite successful. It’s the bad students you hear about not getting anywhere, but in their case, major does not matter.

You seem very driven and intelligent in planning your future. USC has a good business school, too. Definitely go for the major you are interested in and study hard. You will find success.

Plan early and shoot for multiple internships in your chosen business field.

As far as an MBA goes, don’t even worry about it right now. The curriculum is the same, yes, but it’s a little more diverse. Also, MBA’s are actually more for the networking aspect than the business aspect in my opinion. Sometimes managers pick up MBA’s simply to brush up on training and prove to the company they are committed.

If you want to stand out, it will be hard simply with academic coursework. The best way to stand out is extracurricular activities or hobbies. Even something like skydiving for fun or running a club focused on some random hobby could be the big push you need in an interview. Just focus on a high GPA and branching out to your interests.
