I only have a few days to decide on a school to transfer to. Vanderbilt or Georgetown as a government/poli sci major and for same price? Is one more prestigious… is one the much better choice? I honestly don’t want to have to pick and would appreciate some advice/opinions.
Georgetown has the better poly sci program and in DC, so I would suggest that. What else are you looking for - social, sports etc… Those are pretty different at these two colleges…
My advice to you would be similar to that offered on this thread: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/2187765-georgetown-sfs-vs-penn-cas.html#latest.
When asking for advice on choosing between Georgetown and any other college for poli sci/government, the answer is (almost) always Georgetown.
OP: More information would be helpful.
Based on your prior posts, it appears that you are a transfer student. Because much of Vanderbilt’s social life revolves around the Greek system, Georgetown may be the better option for you.
Also, if seeking internship opportunities, Georgetown is the better choice.
If you are seeking a traditional US college experience, then SEC member Vanderbilt is the better choice on this basis.
