Right now I'm in deep seniorits (like REALLLLLY deep) and in my first and second quarter my grades weren't that great but UMASS and other still accepted me but this third quarter is half way done and I'm practically failing 2 of my AP courses. I'm scared out of my mind if I get rejected from my top colleges I'll have no where to go and my future will be ruined because of frikken senioritis. Can I still save myself from being rejected? The most I can get in those classes is a B- right now for my third quarter... I'd just like to know if you guys were still fine after being rejected like this

and yea ik for most of u UMASS is easy to get in but for me its an accomplishment since I'm not the smartest person out there

What does “practically failing” mean?

I meant I’m on the verge of failing for third quarter. The only reason I’m not is because my homework and classwork grades are saving me but my test grades are crap because I’m not studying

From what I have read here on CC is that after the final grades are sent at the end of the year and you have a D or less then you may have the acceptance rescinded. If you can pull your grade up and end the year with a C (or better) you should be OK. But start studying now.

omg ty so much I’ll definitely be able to get atleast a C thank you!!

It can and does happen and you are a prime candidate right now. You’ll survive, if it does, but I wouldn’t want to have to explain it to my parents, relatives, friends, and teachers. That would be the tough part - perhaps if you think about that, it’ll motivate you to finally get your butt in gear.

Getting in does not mean you are done.

Never understood this senioritis thing. When I got into all my top colleges, I was more motivated; just thrilled to be going to a top school, as I thought I should be.

OP - let this be a lesson and let success be a motivator, not a deflator. Good luck.

Yea I sort of realized just a couple days ago getting in doesn’t mean I’m done but ever since like 8th grade till this year through my friends and people online I was led to believe senior year was sort of a break year where all you need to do is pass. I basically got addicted to a couple video games this year and now my grades are plummeting to new lows.

My parents are sort of the reason why I’m so paranoid right now because they went rage mode after seeing my last test grade and now I’m getting freaked out too lol. I hope my teachers give me a crap load more tests

Take all your video games and hand them over to your parents. Do not even think about playing them at a friend’s house. My son has the same addiction, but he’s in 7th grade and the only cure is to go cold turkey.

Good thing is that “senioritis” is curable! I have a senior child. There is no way I’m allowing grades to drop significantly. I understand that it is senior year, but kids take it easy a bit. It is still no reason to drop grades down to “D”…I wouldn’t even be happy about a C for my child.
You’ve gone so far why mess it up now? Why mess up YOUR future?
