Any ideas on this? What are the lowest grades one should keep to be safe for a top school? I’ve somewhere that one needs at least a 3.0 UW without any C’s or lower.
Just don’t fail. A couple of C’s are fine. Relax.
@jamesjunkers even looking at a top 20 school?
Can you give a specific school you’re talking about.
Just be within reason. If you got into Harvard, and you had a 4.0, don’t drop to a 3.0. Try your hardest to stay around. 3.5+. If you got in with a 3.5, the numbers are different. etc.
@jamesjunkers gotchu. No particular school in mind, just waiting on a bunch of decisions.
It depends on the school and the subject too. Having a C or two is usually not a major problem. If you have any doubt, you should contact the admission office.
@billcsho makes sense. I doubt I’ll have C’s, but probably a bunch of B’s.
Are you just slacking or are the courses and the load difficult this year?
There’s no definite formula but the general rule of thumb is no D’s and F’s.
5 AP’s so I mean I don’t think it’s slacking @TheDidactic
B’s are fine for any school.
Stay around the B’s and C’s at the lowest. If you feel yourself slipping, go to the teacher or work with other students to study. Don’t get below C’s.
lol senioritis.
I believe the UCs require a 3.0 or better.
Why are so many CC students worried that their acceptances are going to be revoked? I swear I see a new thread like this every single day. My message to seniors - don’t stop trying! I know how real senioritis can be, but if you can’t learn to cope with it, then you’re probably not ready for the fast-paced learning that takes place in college. Study for your tests and get all of your homework in on time. You have the whole summer to be lazy if you so desire. Don’t put yourself in this situation. Unless you have some sort of personal issue happening in your life, there is no reason for your grades to drop below your norm.
You won’t be rescinded with B’s. Try to keep some of those A’s though…
