I am very interested in going into the medical field as I grow older, but I do not know where exactly to go for undergrad before med school. I had a college in mind, but it is a liberal arts school? Does that matter in regards to going into medicine afterwards? Where is Premed or premed majors like biology and chemistry stronger? In a liberal arts college or an university? I really have a confusing time setting the two apart. Thanks!

Most pre-med majors do goto a liberal arts schools. It neither increases your chances nor decreases your chances for medical school. The classes are smaller so you might get more individualized attention compared to big Universities.

Premed is a series of courses taken in order to be considered for med school. Some students who go to med school went to a liberal arts college, some went to a university. Others started at a community college. No major is necessary to get into med school although a good portion of applicants choose to major in biology and/or chemistry because of the overlapping requirement.

There are hundreds of schools with good to great biology and chemistry departments.

Here’s a thread with multiple links to start with if considering pre-med:

It answers all of your questions and many others you likely haven’t thought about yet. As others have said, pretty much any college and major can work, so pick what you like. There are differences in the colleges, of course, but each have their pros and cons.

Thank you!!!
