I am in the IB diploma program. My grades in Freshman and sophomore year were mostly A's, however, i just received my final year report card for Junior Year. For the First time i have more B's than A's. Here is my schedule and grades

AP Comparative Government-A
IB French 3-A
IB Visual Arts-A
IB World History-B
IB English 3-B
IB Biology-B(terrible because i want to major in human biology)
IB Math studies- B(terrible because its the easiest IB math class)

My dream schools are Stanford and Hopkins. With these grades, will my chances be tremendously reduced? Thank you for any feedback and comments

GPA is a very important factor, but it isn’t everything.

There are other important factors involved: SAT’s, ACT’s, EC’s, and your college essay.

And if you are considering Early Decision, don’t do it. Pull your grades up first semester senior year, and try to take the most rigorous classes available.

The best advice I can give you is to simply do your best in everything

Okay guys, with a 34+ ACT in September, 750+ Biology SAT(To sorta prove that i know my bio stuff even without the A in class), do you think i can become notice-worthy for Stanford?

Unfortunately, most applicants to top schools will be at the top of their class while taking the most rigorous curricula available.

Very True!
I think your chances at very selective colleges dropped because of those grades.

Okay guys, with a 34+ ACT in September, 750+ Biology SAT, do you think I can become notice-worthy for Stanford?

Stanford (and HYP, MIT) is a reach school for EVERYBODY because it is so UNPREDICTABLE.
Nobody with 2350+ (35+ ACT) and multiple 800s on SAT II and 3.95+UWGPA from my HS got accepted from Stanford. But, one got accepted with lesser academic credentials.

As of right now,
Stanford: Major Reach
JHU: High Reach

Raise your GPA as much as you can. Study hard for SAT II tests. Start your essays early AND APPLY TO MANY COLLEGES!

No i dont have predicted scores. Colleges dont get to see IB scores during the application process anyway because I take the IB exams spring of my senior year.

I know that, but at my school teachers “predict” you a score on the IB after the end of your first year (that is, 1 year before the exam). This is what colleges look at for 90% of admissions decisions.'

Oh dammit we dont! I saw my Visual Arts teacher predict the seniors’ score like 3 months before they had to turn in their portfolio senior year.
Though i am realistic in this college process, i am also optimistic. so i’ll still apply. you never know
