please help me choose my classes (freshman math major)

I honestly have no idea what classes I should register for in the spring except for Writing the Essay (and only because I have to). I’m currently taking my Freshman Seminar, Cultures & Contexts, Calc 3, and Linear Algebra and probably should fulfill some of my core requirements next semester. I’m meeting with my advisor in a week or two and am in desperate need of help ;;;;;;

I was thinking of taking a Texts & Ideas class with my friend, but am also unsure about whether or not taking that concurrently with Writing the Essay would be a good idea (since I’m more of a STEM person and 1000% not good with reading/writing a lot). I also have to fulfill core science requirements, so should I do that instead? For math, I heard that discrete is a good class to take after Calc 3 and Linear Algebra, but I also want to take a stats course and was wondering if there’s a course I can take that can also satisfy major requirements (I took AP Stats and am exempted from whatever the equivalent is)?

tl;dr i need help please save me

What about meeting with your major advisor at your school? They can tell you the best courses to take for your major. You are paying tuition so make use of the school’s resources…

@Gumbymom ah i feel like i don’t have a major advisor yet because i technically haven’t declared a major… i do have an academic advisor but she wanted us to go in with four classes in mind

You have some classes in mind, so when you meet with the academic advisor you can ask your questions and hopefully they would be willing to give you some recommendations. Both my son’s meet regularly with their advisors to make sure they are on the right track. You can also consult with your fellow students for recommendations and also look at your course catalog and major plan map to figure out some courses on your own since you are now in College.
