Hey all, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science this year (2012). But I am interested in studying Automotive/Mechanical Engineering for my Postgraduate. I have learnt some basics related to the area and have a good knowledge but have no-experience.
Now, i have applied to a few Universities in UK for Jan 2013 entry - Automotive Engineering MSc. Until now, I have got offers from,

University of Hertfordshire
Kingston University London
Staffordshire University
University of Huddersfield

I need to know the best University from the above list. Your suggestions are welcome too.

@boomting, thanks for your reply!. I also applied for Coventry university and Manchester Metropolitan University. Awaiting their reply for my application.
Could you suggest me other Universities good at this?

@cupcake, thanks for your reply!. I thought they were renowned universities (at least the Huddersfield and hertfordshire). It’s good to know from you that they are not. Could you please suggest me the Universities good at Automotive Engineering/Mechanical Engineering?

Also, Where can i find reviews and rankings on UK Universities? Is there any site for that?

I don’t know which universities are well known in automotive engineering. Those could be the ones, but they are not generally well known. You need to ask people working in that field if they have heard of these places.

For engineering in general in the UK I would suggest imperial college and Loughborough.

The car industry here is centred around Birmingham, Coventry and Oxford (where minis are made) so I would suspect good courses exist in this area.

I second cupcake’s suggestion for Loughborough, I have friends doing mechanical and automation engineering there and they tell me it’s awesome. The engineering program there is quite famous! As for the schools on your list, I don’t really know any of them… since you are applying MSc, perhaps it’s best to see which school has more research in the area you like most, or has more industrial connections.
