Today I started my first day as a junior and Im trying to figure what to do. Please bear with me I'm just trying to find a place in life. . .

I have discovered that my passion is Photography. I would absolutely love to major in Photography and maybe minor in journalism or humanities.

Im currently enrolled in the IB program but Im debating if it's right for me. Since I work in order to help my economically unstable family so time is limited, I also need to improve my GPA and none of my friends are in my classes (friends don't pay bills I know mom but it's still depressing) I originally enrolled because I thought it would improve my chances in receiving a scholarship and I had taken all Pre-IB classes(expect math i suck at maths) and 2 AP classes so Im prepared but Im not feeling motivated at all.

BUT you see, what's the point of doing all these math and science required classes if all I want to do is photography after high school? Should I just do a mixture between AP and IB classes and get to pick the courses I actually care about and will help me in art college?

My top choice is Columbia but Im looking into NYU, UCLA, RISD. What would these colleges prefer? For me to work hard on my portofolio/passion or to complete the most rigorous course load?

Any help is appreciated for this poor agnsty teen! THANK YOU
